Throughout the year, we see a number of auctions for jerseys that include patches for special events, such as retirement night jerseys and hall of fame induction jerseys.
Recent auctions like this Los Angeles King’s Rob Blake Retirement Night jersey above were worn in one game then auctioned off. Other teams, like the Buffalo Sabres simply remove the specialty patch from the set jersey it was sewn to and re-add the patch to the jersey at time of sale.
Which method as a collector do you prefer and why? Single game jerseys for special events, or adding/removing patches to regular season jerseys?
